I'm all for additional revenue streams for the station (gotta pay your people), and as a podcast listener I just skip over it, but I'm very surprised the Calgary market would be into NFL "gambling selection talk".

Yes. I get that this is a hockey forum but there are a lot of football fans in Canada.
