I can only speak for myself here, but I thought that Kane's financial troubles were both unsurprising and contains a certain level of schadenfreude to make this story more interesting. It has zero to do with him being black.

Those pics of him posing with his cash, the rumours of him walking out on bills, stories of how his teammates disliked him... Kane is un unlikable personality, regardless of colour, and not because of colour. This thread took a sideways turn quickly. Maybe I am just a social moron, but I didn't see any sense of the 'public shaming' that has gone on for posts saying what I stated above.

Yes, addiction issues are JUST as bad as alcohol and substance abuse issues - they all can completely destroy not only your lives, but the lives of people around you as well, and all have much higher suicide rates and other health effects that you would probably be surprised with hearing about. It is yet another tragic tale of a young millionaire who threw a huge gift away. Anyone can feel bad for him, and even people who are mocking him openly might still feel that bit of sadness for what he is going through.

However, posting pics of his money phone or stacks of cash on his back while doing push-ups, and then going broke? That's fricken hilarious, and it has absolutely nothing to do with him being black. F U if you are going to assume that.

I would take just as much glee if it was Commodore in that situation, even though Commodore is otherwise likeable as he has stood up against terrible people like Babcock. It would still be funny, however, because he had his (in)famous 'money bed' moment.

It is funny because when people flaunt their wealth, and then lose it.. well, if someone can't understand why there is a certain degree in humour in it, then I can't help you. If you are so quick to bring race into the equation, then perhaps it is time to look at yourself and not at others?
