Ed Belfour is the best example of a team changing UFA goalie to win a cup. Many of the others are technically true, but I think you can make the case that Thomas/Niemi were 'homegrown' by BOS and CHI, even if they were plucked off the trash heap as UFAs.


Osgood of course was a team changing UFA signing...though it was back to the team that grew him and knew him inside/out.
