I don't think anyone is more worried about losing Ryan.
It's more the fact that Ryan deserves to be in the lineup, while Kylington does not. Subtracting Kylington may hurt the future, but it doesn't hurt the Flames now.
Taking Ryan out makes the lineup worse right now IMO.
