Why not simply keep Kylington on the main roster as the 7th defesemen instead of exposing him when someone like Mackey does not require waivers? It's poor asset management. Kylington has not even had an opportunity to play at camp.
Treliving has continually and needlessly thrown away draft picks to bring in borderline depth defensemen each season at the deadline (which has ironically pushed Kylington out), yet has no problem giving up on cheap, young, and capable NHL depth in Kylington and Kulak. Headscratching.
