Just a reminder. He has 194 goals in 541 gp (Leads his draft class but thats a moving goalpost as MacKinnon has more points OA). 40 .... (not sure SO winning goals count here either) gwg out of those 194.
We pined away for decades for a scoring center, we have one , he does the job. And after 1 season (chaotic mess of one mind you) of off production hes now being so under valued as a player that we are yearning to trade futures for a player who hasn't even met Monahans stride in parallel career trajectories.
Its silly.even if you want to pull the "it's good asset management " card. Which has its merits, the valuations are still off.

you posted stats, and then went onto emotional bs because you're a Flames (Monahan...this iteration of Flames?) fan?
I ask you, are you a Flames fan or are you a Monahan fan?
Ask yourself that honest question, and then let me know.
Truth is, hockey is not just goals and points, and we have ample evidence of what he has accomplished in the playoffs which I would call a failure.
Dubois competes. Monahan and Gaudreau don't.
That;'s about all we need to know to move on. Now getting the right assets in return is what matters. Dubois + for Monahan and a first could very well potentially be a great deal.
And you should keep in mind here... critically... you're on a Flames fan forum. Don't let the "thanks" deter you. It doesn't mean you're "right".
