I honestly don’t think you are in the minority and believe that most on this board feel Monahan is not a true #1 center. The last time it felt like he was close to being a #1 C was before he, Gaudreau, and Lindholm cooled off in the 18/19 season. Most will recall that before they went on their bye week Monahan and Gaudreau were both pacing for over 100pts and Lindholm in the 90’s.
A brutal playoffs followed up by a lackluster season has many fans souring.
Most on this board think Lindholm is the #1C and we are constantly thinking of proposals to trade Monahan. If he was a legit number 1C those suggestions would be shot down as quickly as Tkachuk trade suggestions do today.
