See my earlier post in this thread. Statistically, anti-vaxxers are
more likely to be conservatives than liberals, contrary to the popular stereotype. As for PETA fanatics, nobody considers them part of the mainstream left. That's the distinction that's really important to make: nobody is denying there aren't extremists on both sides, but the issue is that the lunatics on the right are now a large part of the conservative mainstream while the lunatics on the left are consigned to the fringes and have no real power.
