They are similar except for the fact that Tanev is a better skater and a better first passer. I like Hamonic, and I hope for his sake that he rebounds this year, but last year, he was not an NHL defenseman. And that is hard for me to say.
I hope for his sake that after this season, you still feel they are 'incredibly similar'. But I doubt you will.
