And to add to this, we know now that they had no idea of what to do once they got in other than mill around and take selfies and such. They didn't know that at the time though. They could have been armed and dangerous, and who knew what their intentions were?
It's really a miracle that more people weren't shot. I would say that was incredibly restrained.
