One thing that can be said as a benefit to the way things went down yesterday, credit only to the pure ineptitude of the response, is that so few people died. Not even these people deserve the death penalty for what they did, they overtook a building and, again probably due to the fact that they're unorganized and are fighting for essentially nothing and they know it, weren't overly violent to the point of needing to be put down. Had many of them met a bullet, you can bet they would be seen as martyrs to the cause, creating a powderkeg and giving them some actual reason to attack government officials.
Again, this credit goes to absolutely nobody, it's just the way things went down, but there is a positive side to it. It could have been worse for everybody, including the Capitol.
