I wear a suit zero times per year and don't wear much more than a hoodie 99% of the time, so a more formal watch would be wasted on me.

Most watches have functions 99% of people will never use, whether a diver, pilot, navigation, racing watch etc.
Just get what you like.
If there's functionality you won't use but you love the look of the watch, who cares.
