I used to be onboard with this idea, but now I just think it artificially restricts people's choices with no benefit to th citizens.
What it does benefit is special interest who can run their candidates against weaker compition as good people in those positions are force to retire. Getting quality people who want to expose themselves to public elections is already hard enough.
