Where did you hear that the passenger told him to flee? I am not doubting it, but interested in what other details there are.
It's so senseless. The charges they were facing (unregistered vehicle), and an existing assault charge, were such minor things to run from once you are already pulled over and identified. You're already caught at that point and running just adds to the punishment. The fact a guy died because of such a selfish and stupid act is just terrible beyond words.
