This whole argument seems silly to me. Nothing about Travis Hamonic in his career suggests a selfish player or person. The guy has character oozing out of every pore.

The game speed changed in the last three to four years, and it caught up with him, but the guy isn't any less of a human being.
I really don't get the hate at all. Hamonic was a warrior for the Flames. We're talking about a guy who suffered a facial fracture following a fight with 6'5'' Gudbranson, after Gudbranson made a questionable hit on Dube.

Also, 6 months ago, playing professional sports seemed like a very dangerous endeavour. There were many breakouts among professional sports teams. The bubble turned out to be relatively safe, but even then, there were reported cases of Covid initially. Hamonic, since his father's passing, plays a very important role with his family, and there were all sorts of reports of how dangerous covid was to children at the time the NHL bubble came into being.

I get that in hindsight it was a bad trade. The role of defencemen has changed, and unfortunately Hamonic's lack of speed means he's unable to adapt. However, Hamonic is not the type of player that should be booed. The Flames could use a few more players with his attitude.
