No major projects, but I did have some time to refinish a couple pieces. The first is just an Ikea side table that a friend had given us, but I wanted it to match my other stuff so gave it a sanding, stain and varnish.
The cabinet was probably the first real piece of furniture I built, to hold my wife's fish tank. It's at least 15 years old now. Stability was more important than design. I also only really owned a circular saw and drill at the time, so the finish was rough, edges not really sanded, and I didn't know how to varnish properly. So I gave most of it a gentle sand, and the top and rough edges down to bare wood, then refinished to match. Also built a few shelves for the inside since it isn't hiding CO2 tanks anymore. I'm sure it will get packed full of "stuff" soon enough.
I also built a sunglasses organizer, will post a pic when the paint dries and I get it installed. Oh, and the top coat on a coffee table inherited from my grandma. It was just starting to look a little rough, so giving it protection for a few more years.
