Against Austria, he was able to do whatever he wanted, and as a result, he was engaged and energetic. But against Russia, he couldn't do those things and quickly lost interest.

Unless you don’t know the full extent if his injury, and how much it effected his play, it’s hard to draw any hard conclusions from his play in this tournament.
An injured player may well have been able to dominate against a weak player simply because even with his injury he’s head an shoulders better than his opponent. But against superior players, the injury is more telling.
In tournaments like these where the quality of opponents varies greatly, players often have uneven performances based on the different quality of opponents. I seem to recall that Iggy had the majority of his points against the also rans at his last Olympics, and he was, at the time, an all world player. At this level, when playing against the top players in the world, it’s tough sledding even for players at 100%. If Bromberg was playing at even 80%, he was at a severe disadvantage against the world’s best junior players.
