"Control" of the Judicial branch is a hard thing to quantify. The Supreme Court currently has a 6-3 ratio of Justices appointed by Republicans (Roberts, Thomas, Alito, Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, Barrett) and Democrats (Breyer, Sotomayor, Kagan) respectively.
However, the Judicial branch is more than just the Supreme Court. There are the 13 appeals, or circuit courts, made up of 179 Justices. Below them are the 89 District courts, consisting of more than 700 active and senior Judges.
Spread across all these levels of the Judiciary, 401 currently active Judges were appointed by Democratic Presidents, and 422 were appointed by Republican Presidents.
At least, these are the numbers according to Wikipedia, so, grain of salt and all that.

Yes, I know this but misspoke. Apologies. Branch was the wrong word
Lots of info about the judicial branch in your post but in my brief and admittedly unspecific post I was referring to effecting change more so than having concerns about interpreting and applying the law
Was meaning the three that factor in to establishing legislation, with the exec having ability to check (as we have just seen, with veto that can be overridden)
