When you consider that it is only $500k per year more than what Cirelli got, it's a great deal for Columbus. Or what we paid Tkachuk. Not that I think either of those are terrible deals.
I thought he would get a similar deal to what Monahan or Gaudreau got on a long term deal.
Dubois is only the 6th highest paid player in Columbus (as he would be here on that contract). From that perspective, it's a pretty good deal. When Tkachuk signed his deal, he was averaging about 0.1 more points per game. That got him 40% more money and made him the highest paid player on the team.
