Bold Prediction time!
Toronto Maple Leafs end up with the worst team defensive numbers through the regular season, but out score their problems and win the North. Swept in the first round of the play-offs
We see a change to how awards are voted on and handed out after they're incredibly slanted towards the East division despite better numbers or performances elsewhere.
For the first time in franchise history the Golden Knights miss the play-offs, missing out to the Wild, Blues, Avs and Arizona.
Columbus wins the new Central.
Buffalo has another hot start but finishes last in their division; Eichel stops skirting around the bush and publicly demands a trade.
Chara retires mid-season.
Nils Hoglander makes the Canucks out of camp and makes it four years in a row with a Canucks player nominated for the Calder (does not win).
Edit- While we're on this one: He does score a michigan near the start of the season. Tries again mid season and gets buried.
Nathan MacKinnon runs away with the Art Ross but still loses the Hart vote to a player from the East division.
Draisatl finishes below a ppg again and becomes a whipping boy in Edmonton after they pin their play-off miss on him.
Dillon Dube has a major break out year and is looked at as the second best player on the Flames roster behind Matthew Tkachuk by seasons end.
Annnnd the one to stir the pot:
Brayden Holtby finishes the year with better numbers than Jacob Markstrom.
