Just to reiterate for the 4th time I’m not really pinning my prediction for Ottawa’s outperform on Galchenyuk. He’s a nothingburger and honestly I kind of agree. Stepan is a quality add though. Especially for a 2nd everyone always massively overrated draft picks on this site amd I assume it’s because Calgary always trades theirs away all Willy nilly.
Ottawa has a lot of good young pieces, picked up a goalie. Dadonov is a stud, and Stepan is good. They’re going to have the best rookie dman in the game. They have a couple other quality players, and I predict they outwork their opponents as opposed to a team like........... oh I dunno.... Calgary. Call me crazy. Multiple years of $6MM pay days for the best players? Yeah. Call me Nostradamus but I suspect the effort level drops. A lot. This will result in below average performance for an above average group, who are not as good as they think they are.
