The Christmas star is appearing in time as Jupiter and Saturn are not been this close to each other in the last 800 years. It will be on the SW horizon, and you should be able to see two bright lights close to each other, and with binoculars you should be able to pick out the moons.
Well you would if it wasn't so freaking cloudy and snowy tonight but you should be able to find a telescope view on line.
