Things the pandemic situation has opened my eyes to:

1) Even if I give in and agree that this is a normal flu season thing (absolutely do not), then I’m ashamed we haven’t been wearing masks all along. I’m shocked so many are dying, and almost all vulnerable. But we should care, and do what we can to minimize. My grandparents were the most loving caring people to me and others. If they were alive would it be fair that someone else’s decision ended there lives earlier than natural course of old age?
2) I knew opioid deaths were a big problem. Idk, maybe the media is piling on a bit bringing this issue into the light right now. But the numbers are shocking. Again makes me feel like a bit of an ignorant ass not understanding how big of a problem it is. I’m not sure without the pandemic these deaths would get the same MSM attention? Idk, but I appreciate the situation more so now. Hope I can be more helpful, and no matter what will be more empathetic.
3) People are weird about this mask thing. I hate masks. Bugs the hell out of me. But I comply and wear one and follow out health professionals directions. I mean, what does it hurt? And if it actually helps seems like a dumb ass thing not to do. Freedoms are only possible within a society that understands that boundaries and rules enable freedoms.
