I like mangiapane and don't disagree that he plays solid defensively and would be missed but depending on the light you shine any choice they end up making could be a poor one.
Saying to look a specific period of the season rather than the season as a whole is somewhat cherry picking the prime moments rather than overall performance. By the same measure you could look exclusively at Bennett's ppg effort in the playoffs and ignore the ups and downs of his play in the regular season.
One more reason I wouldnt want Backlund exposed is that he is generally consistent YoY both in play and points and doesn't play a style of game that looks like it'd wear you down and cause a drastic decline over the next couple years despite the over 30 argument
