When I moved here from Winnipeg, the sticker situation was weird to me.
Manitoba: Month sticker on bottom left side, Year sticker on bottom right side.
So that's what I did, and then I got home and my aunt took one look at it and said it was wrong and I had to carefully remove it and re-apply.
Alberta: Month sticker on the upper left side (so you can't see it as it's obscured by most rear bumper or decklid overhangs), and Year stickers alternating left and right (odd and even, apparently).

back then was idiotic and outdated. What I also think is outdated is that you have to carry the paper copy of your registration with you (and being ticketed if you fail to produce it). What information does running one's plate return if not the registration?
