This graph depicts the estimated revenue from regular season ticketing as percentage of total revenue in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 2010/11 to 2018/19. In the 2018/19 season the revenue from gate receipts made up 36.6 percent of the league's total revenue.

Have seen two sources that say every game generates between $1.7 and 1.8M per night.
41 home games, 1 preseason (estimate), and an average of 3 playoff games per team across the league (worked out a playoff grid) gives you 45
45 x $1.75M = $2.45B or 49% of the $5B estimate.

I’ve seen the $1.7M avg/game figure but I haven’t seen whether or not that was calculated with playoff games included. If that is the case then that figure is likely quite inflated as playoff games on average obviously generate way more revenue than a regular season game.

And yes have seen lots of talk about having to bank back last year's end of year missed games as an example.

Can you please clarify what you’re saying here? Are you saying the league has had to pay back NBC for missed games?
