There's a reason that evangelicals voted overwhelmingly for Trump. It's not because they are critical thinkers.
When the fundamentals of your religion influence the governance of everybody, it's time for your religion to take a back seat. Specifically religion in the US trying to enshrine into laws:
- Anti LBGTQ, rhetoric, and denial of civic rights
- Anti choice legislation, to prevent women from making decisions about their own bodies.
- The protection of pedophiles as needing to be judged by God rather than the state.
- Abject discrimination of any religion that isn't Christian.
