Omega getting helped by a NJPW wrestler and taking the belt to Japan should have been an angle they used eventually, but a cross-over with Impact...bleh.
AEW is already more mainstream than Impact ever has been, no idea what the benefit of putting your Champion on AXS TV is.
Plus Omega being the one to take the belt to Impact and needing to do that to win the belt makes about as much sense as when Austin joined team WCW in that invasion.
If you want to have a dusty finish and put the belt on an Impact show then you might as well have put it on Brian Cage or Matt Hardy who had a history with Impact, and it would make more sense that they’d need to cheat to win.
