It's not like a concert which is a one time deal, in a few months you'll be able to buy a PS5 without issue once the supply chain issues settle down. I agree with you, just wait it out.
However I did really want to get my Father in-law the Xbox series X for Christmas. I was not smart enough to pre-order it. Luckily thanks to this thread I was able to secure one from Amazon.
It just one of things that would have been "nice" to have and get somebody for Christmas without having to navigate the world of scalpers or trying to subscribe to notifications where you have seconds to secure your purchase.
I guess I'm naïve and want a nicer world in general, where people are buying things for the enjoyment of it instead of making a profit.
