Just by waiting a few months after release you can find many triple-A games for half price on the Playstation store, you never see that kind of price reduction at physical retailers, even for pre-owned. And if you do buy games day 1, digital means you just hit a download button instead of driving to a store or waiting for shipping. Then when you consider never having swap discs when you want to change games, not having to worry about losing or breaking discs (as a parent of 2 young kids this is huge), and always having an on-demand library of all your games when a replay itch strikes, digital just offers way to much convenience for me to ever consider going back to buying physical copies

Also, keep in mind games are never ready when they ship. Therefore, the first thing you have to do with a disc game is to download an update which is pretty much equivalent to the full size of the game.
