I watched a couple of band themed films last weekend.
The Commitments is an Irish film from 1991, voted at one point the best Irish film of all time (in a popularity contest). It was pretty entertaining, some really solid musical performances. Was a bit of a hit at the time. Working/lower class people put up a soul band in Dublin, have some success and fight a lot.
The other one is probably pretty obscure, but if you're a metal head to any extent, do yourself a favour and seek out
Heavy Trip (orig. Hevi Reissu), a Finnish film from 2018. It's quickly becoming a cult film in certain circles, for a good reason. It's a pretty dumb film, and parts of it are really forgettable, but the good parts are just effing hilarious. The guys in the band are all such archetypes. The bass player Pasi especially

I loved this film, it so lovingly captures that "small metal band out of nowhere" feeling.
