Really? Dems just got a record turnout and vote total. The Republicans did the same, and all on the back of the cult of personality. If this ever becomes anything but a vote to defend Trumpism (racism, stupidity, racism, racism, living in an alternative universe based on racism) then the Republicans are in massive trouble. People like to think that the anti-Trump vote brought people out, but it appears the pro-Trump support was even more effective. When that dries up, and it becomes a policy discussion, what do the Republicans have to stand on? Absolutely nothing. Trumpism will be with us for decades, but without the dear leader, it won't have that sustaining pull to the polls.

The Dems got record turnout and still couldn't win the senate and got less seats in the house. As this was a vote to defend Trumpism, this was also an energized vote to repudiate it, and it still barely made it. So yes, really.
