I am not sure if I understand this sentence. Are you saying that unemployment statistics only include people accepting EI benefits? I could be wrong, but I don't think that is true. I know for sure it isn't true in every country.

If they are looking at past generations and thinking that they are in a unique situation, then my comment stands. This has been going on since the Industrial Revolution. It's what happens when you go full capitalism. Electing a guy like Donald Trump is the absolute worst thing they could have thought of. Tired of losing your jobs because of immigrants and foreign trade? I know, let's elect the business man with a history of hiring undocumented cheap labour and buying steel from China! Great idea!
