Flames fans would want to cut ties with the 1998 era Flames as well.
IMO, I see the Avs, Canes and Wild as using those old team's colors, but overall you'll still see the Avs Canes and Wild logos and thus the overall look will be of the current team.
Fleur de lis and the cartoon whale are nice touches (and I expect to see the N for North Stars on the shoulder of the.Wild) but again, I think when you look at the jersey in the end it will mostly be "Hey that's a Carolina Hurricanes jersey that is colored like the Whalers" rather then, "That's a Whalers jersey that Carolina is wearing", IMO.
