The Krack take Backlund and Gio is traded at the deadline. Both still great guys but they need to start cashing in on depreciating assets (if they're out of the race) with a guy like Gio (who could re-sign after playoffs anyway). The only way losing Backlund really hurts the team is if they haven't found a better second line C and if that's the case, they aren't going anywhere anyway.
