Debrusk is 24 and an RFA
Carlo is 23 and an RFA in a year.
Gaudreau is 27 with 2 years left until UFA.
Hanifin is 23 with 4 years left until UFA.
So in terms of team control Carlo and Hanifin are a wash, since both are 23 with similar time left to UFA. So you're downgraded from Gaudreau/Hanifin to Debrusk/Carlo to get maybe an extra 2-3 years of team control from Debrusk. That would be a horrible, horrible trade.

Many think that Carlo has more trade value than Hanifin.
In any event, Calgary got nothing for Gilmour, and Gilmour was an exceptionally good player for Toronto.
