The series S, as I understand it, has three flaws compared to the Series X:
1. No disc drive
2. Lack of “real 4K” (can upscale to 4K but the tech nerds I know claim it’s slightly worse than the 4K on the XSX)
3. Smaller storage (500G compared to 1TB)
It will still be significantly better than the Xbox One.
If you’re still on PS2 then you’ll notice a significant difference either way, and the Xbox One will still be a viable option for a few years at least.
