I totally understand the argument "we're not responding to trolls but to the folks reading the trolls message. Hopefully we can convince those people of the logic of our words." It is admirable even.
But this is done at the absolute derailing of a thread that hitherto was made with good faith discussion. Personal responsibility can only take you so far before authority needs to get something done.
