And not to minimize the way other leaders have taken personal benefit from the office, but for the President of a $7trillion/year organization to gain $3M/year in net worth doesn't exactly seem crazy to me, Especially when you consider the fact that they have no opportunity to retain the job after 8 years, and having had the job seriously limits the prospects and opportunities they can pursue in the future, Obama can't exactly go back to teaching law now.
If you want good leaders in such a demanding position those people are going to make enough money that they, their children and their grandchildren will liver very comfortably.
