Its great, that at least we know, and have a path to power now for a new president. I'm not convinced that Biden is going to be the best choice for Canada, but none of the candidates were.
Biden has a impossible task ahead, and that's trying to bring a fractured nation back together. I think that there is going to continue to be a massive split, the damage is done, the Trump gameplan has opened a ton of wounds. I also think that Biden has a huge task in rebuilding America's credibility abroad, a nation reeling from the Covid virus.
The sad thing is there's nothing he can do until January 20th, and its likely that Trump will rage wreck whatever he can, stir up more hatred and mistrust and divisions.
Do I expect that Trump will have to be dragged out of the White House to be sent to Arkham Asylum? No, in the end he'll leave, he'll try to negotiate a deal that allows him to avoid any prosecution in exchange for a peaceful transition to Biden (That's a guess anyways). But I don't think it will do America any favors to have a former president hauled in front of the courts.
Its been an embarrassing and traumatic 4 years in America under Trump, the old saying is you leave a company in a better place then when you join it. I doubt anyone will say that when it comes to Trump and I'm understating that on reflection.
Like I said, I don't think that Biden is the guy that can take on the myriad of tasks ahead and navigate the required consensus that he needs to get bills past. I don't know.
