This wasn't the year to be going for a wild card. If Trump can do one thing, it's tear people down and ridicule them. It doesn't matter if what he says is truth, just the action causes people to falter. Biden, having been around for so long and seeing it all, was the safest bet to weather that storm.

I personally don't think the high water mark was ever going to be that high for beating Trump and Biden is pretty much meeting my expectations.
