I'm happy that it looks like Trump is gone, but who knows how much damage can occur on the way out the door.
We're probably going to see months of litigation and ugliness.
I mean honestly, we're even seeing some republicans going WTF man this is just awful, and that's great. Maybe we could see a Republican civil war, or a split of the party. who knows.
I mean the smart move after Trump is out of the white house would be to see the Republicans finding a way to excommunicate Trump and his underlings, maybe a flashy ceremony with robes and latin and stuff.
Now Biden has a lot of challenges ahead, he's still going to be dealing with a Rep majority house. He's going to have to find a way to a moderate message that resonates with all Americans.
The Democrats have some work to do as well. The fact that this wasn't an absolute repudiation of Trump and the destruction of the Rep party, means that they have to look at their messaging, and how they deliver it, and why they keep losing things like the Rust belt.
Its just a bad time for American leadership. Trump is/was/will always be. God awful, and the worst of America's soul. But I don't think Biden is all that great either. We'll see.
