Voting machine as in digital, or?

How are the mailed in ballots counted? Someone going through each one, or sending them through a computer? I highly doubt someone is standing and counting each one.

It shouldn't really matter how many things you vote for. A computer can easily add a ballot to an automated list that keeps track of each selection. I get that someone would have to feed in the ballots though.
