I think its a similar thought process that someone 90+ has a high chance of having some form of cognitive impediment that likely wouldn't put them in the right mind to make decisions for the greater good. Similar to a child.
There is also the argument of how someone voting in the last years of their lives are similar to being at a restaurant, ordering for the whole table, leaving before the appetizers arrive and then footing them with the bill.
Again, I agree with you but some of these arguments are atleast reasonable.
Elderly people are stripped of driving rights, etc. as they age because they aren't able to make these decisions for themselves and can be a potential danger to society.

The driving argument is also a false equivalency - it is a matter of being physically unfit to drive, primarily due to failing eyesight and reduced reflexes.
