Honestly, one of the biggest, if not the biggest criticism of Biden during his campaign was talking about decreasing demand for fossil fuels. People were saying it was bad to tell the truth and he should have avoided the answer or outright lied because it was what voters in swing states wanted to hear.

What gets people excited is fanfare and pageantry, not the issues. That is where the Republicans get their success, and that is a problem. It doesn't matter how obvious Trump's lies are, or how ridiculous and baseless his accusations are against others, as long as it gets people excited to vote for him. Having rallies and red hats with catch phrases on them gets half of Americans excited, not medical care and stimulus packages.

I am glad that the other party has resisted that recipe for the most part. And the hollier than though attitude isn't just a Democrat trait. After all, they aren't the ones clutching guns and bibles.
