They’ve spent years in a party that has aligned their church.personal values with their politics on the Republican side. It’s always been a easy vote for those people. I was thinking something along these lines last night, when considering the polling data showing one result and the actual election results showing something else.
Personally, I think that the evangelicals are the perfect representation of a Trump voter: You can pretend to be a nice and kind and caring person on the outside (ie, tell pollsters that you are for Biden), but deep down and in private you are a selfish, pro-white-man, anti-immigrant, and hardcore “no handouts for anyone except for me” person (ie, vote for Trump).
The repression is deep with these people.
