Why is it that the Democrats are missing so many people? So many regular, hard working, law abiding American's? It's kind of perplexing and I think it says more about their party than the Republicans.
I know a lot of people on the political thread hate Trump but if this was a hockey analysis, in 2016 the Democrats missed the open net to win the game. It's not over and we don't know the final result but we are looking at a scenario where a top seed team keeps losing to a lesser opponent and people need to figure out why.

The real answer is a longer one, but it’s not about the Dems spending more time crafting a better message. It’s systematic. It’s about actually doing something for people like the working class in the rust belt. The US had a huge IP based tech boom, outsourced that post WWII manufacturing base, plus newer manufacturing requirements overseas, enriched business owners with ensuing profits, and ignored the states cast aside.
The corporate class devised other transfer of wealth mechanisms based around financial and real estate vehicles . Finding ways to generate profits now and leaving good people holding the bag for years to come. Reckonings have to happen
Words are not enough because words don’t restore a standard of living
Even if Trump won’t actually do anything for them, he at least articulates their angst and points it at his opponents
