Drouin had pretty dazzling offensive numbers, and he had Hedman in hand as a top RD. He was also looking at the back end of MSL's career, and needed a winger with offensive dazzle to replace him. IMO drouin was the natural selection in that spot. Stamkos, Hedman, then a winger to support stammer. 2/3 is a good success rate on those picks though, lol. And they did turn Drouin into Sergachev.
