My paternal grandfather was born in Ireland to British parents (on a military posting), fought in WW1, went on to become a Bishop, and died early due to lingering effects of a war wound.

I don’t know much about my grandmother - she died young in a car crash - but we have a set of beautiful water colours she painted as a young woman in the early 1900s.

My maternal grandfather was a successful businessman in building materials, but turned down an offer from a friend to start a pineapple business in Hawaii. His fiend’s name was Dole....

I don’t know much about my maternal grandmother.
