I used to be an ops manager for one of the electronic chains. We were constantly hiring (shocking), so I used to have some of my team go through resumes and call in anyone who looked promising to be able to finish their parole without ending up back in jail.

I would be running the sales floor during the day, so I’d just have the interviews set in blocks (like 2-4PM, and interview on a first come basis, when I had a few free minutes). The applicants would be told this up front.

I likely interviewed 500 people in the course of a year, but this one stood out. The guy (looked like hardcore D&D player, ponytail, no intention of moving out of Mom’s basement ever, likely had never touched a girl) comes in, and promptly starts to berate me that he’s been waiting for 40 minutes, it was rude, blah, blah, blah.

I sit stunned for a moment, then promptly tell him to get the #### out of my office. He’s genuinely shocked, I guess he thought he’d get points for his moxie or whatever. He did not. I still remember it clearly to this day.
